🍥 Life
Hi friend! How’s it going??
OMG you have to watch this show if you haven’t already called Link Click (时光代理人). In “Time Photo Studio”, there are two people who have special abilities to enter into photographs and grant certain wishes to clients. The thing is, you have to be careful about what you do because if you change the past, that could alter the future…
Technically it’s not an anime because it’s Chinese so it’s called a dong hua (动画). It’s just amazing. The graphics and animation style is beautiful. The storyline is touching and complex in a way that you can watch it over and over again. Chinese dong hua has come so far. 😊
I also noticed that since I am native in Chinese, there is so much context and nuance that I would not have been able to pick up on if I had relied solely on subtitles. This is why I feel a new boost of motivation in my Japanese learning journey so I can experience anime the way that it was intended. ⚡⚡
🌻 Learning & Productivity
The Japanese learning continues. I’m on week 4 of my study plan. I did have some setbacks tbh because other work got busy, but I still managed to stay consistent and put in 2 hours this week!
Btw I’d been playing around with Midjourney more these days, also to create the thumbnail for this video. 👇
Here’s a quick command if you want to create a version of something/someone based on a real photo:
/imagine
<discord image link>
<text prompt eg. greek goddess artemis>
-ar <aspect ratio to be eg. landscape is 16:9>
-iw <image vs. text weight eg. 1.5 for more weight on image>
link in comments of any images you create!!
👨💻 What I’m Working On
I’m going to be honest, it’s not been the best week for me. I actually ended relations with the agency I was working with because the harsh reality is that my videos don’t do as many views as they used to so I wasn’t bringing in enough money for them. That was definitely a blow…
But yeah that’s why it’s been imposter syndrome week where I suddenly freak out thinking that maybe I don’t have what it takes and I go like:
OMG what am I doing??? 😱😱😱
WHAT IF PEOPLE JUST DON’T WANT TO WATCH MY YOUTUBE VIDEOS ANYMORE?
etc. etc. etc.
I’m like fine 80% of the time, but then sometimes like 1 thing goes wrong and I start questioning myself about everything. Idk does anyone else get this?? 🫠
On the bright side though, I wanted to share with y’all some Lonely Octopus freelance projects that octopi worked on!
One of the biggest takeaways from octopi is how surprised they were that they were able to accomplish so much with just knowing how to use the OpenAI API. It’s so powerful. If you haven’t tried it already I recommend starting by doing this 1 hr free course by Andrew Ng. It’s essentially 2 lines of code and some prompt engineering to get something working! 🤯🤯
I’m so excited to watch what they do next:
🔎 Identifying 30% Revenue Improvement for a Small Business
👨⚕️ Pubmed Pal: automating content generation for medical businesses
Pls show them some love on LinkedIn by reacting or commenting your thoughts? 🥺💜💜
Btw could you lmk in the comments if you’d be interested in some self learning, AI, and career lunch & learns? I’d love to do these but only if it’s useful!
P.S. All constructive feedback is greatly appreciated :)
-Tina
I totally understand the sudden self doubt. How I have seen a reduction in it is by tracking my progress in my goals and seeing how far I have come. I also feel better when I get validation on my work by comparing with someone who has done similar work and I realise that I have done the same/ better work.
The journey to be more confident about my work is still on-going though.
I hope this helps you feel better. I like your content. <3
I watched a little bit of Link Click! I've been learning Mandarin for years so I'm always happy to see interesting 动漫. Will you be sharing more about your Japanese learning journey? Along with other languages I'm also learning Japanese. It'd be nice to see the resources you're using and get general updates about your journey 🙂
