New Obsession: cybercore stuff

Hi friend! How’s it going??
I built a new desk setup! I’ve been getting into the cybercore aesthetic and have this intense urge to do a full apartment makeover lol. This is probably because I’ve been watching a lot of scifi anime like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. I highly recommend Cyberpunk: Edgerunners!

🌻 Learning & Productivity
I read a bunch of books recently but the one book that I literally stayed up all night to finish is Between Two Kingdoms: A Memoir of a Life Interrupted by Suleika Jaouad.
Suleika was diagnosed with cancer just a few weeks before her 23rd birthday. After four years of battling leukemia - including a countless rounds of chemo, a clinical trial, and a bone marrow transplant - she was declared cancer free. Cancer had robbed her of her youth and freedom, so to reclaim control over her life, she decides to go on a 15,000-mile solo road trip to meet the strangers who wrote to her during the time she was in the hospital.
She’s an amazing writer. The way that she describes her experiences is so raw and honest. I think what really resonated with me is this desire for freedom and to travel in order to take control of your life. It’s something that’s been brewing in my mind for a while now. 🙈
👨💻 What I’m Working On
A lot of my focus has been on Lonely Octopus recently as we go into the final weeks of the Age of AI cohort! 🤖 Octopi are starting work on their freelance projects now. Several of the projects involve integrating AI into client products/businesses and it’s been super cool seeing everyone using what they learn from courses and directly applying it to real projects (and their lives).
One we’re doing for Stratascratch, a data science interview platform, involves building a personalized AI tutor. I’ve learned so much as well and it’s remarkable what AI can do for personalized learning.
Honestly, it’s just been remarkable seeing everyone’s progress in just a few weeks. Several octopi came in having 0 coding or data science knowledge and now they’re working with clients on real freelance projects. 🥺💜 I sound like a proud mama octopus lmao.
