🍥 Life
Hi friend! How’s it going??
I’m in Munich right now and it’s been wonderful! I absolutely love the city - it’s clean, people are polite (and so fashionable), and the city has beautiful architecture and parks. People also just seem far more relaxed and happier compared to North America or East Asia where I’ve spent the majority of my time. I’m falling in love. ❤️
🌻 Learning & Productivity
I’ve read a lot in the past week, including books on storytelling, business, and philosophy.
One book I read is the Science of Storytelling. Through the lens of science, Will explains what makes a good story.
He argues that stories are essential because, to paraphrase, they help us to not succumb to the mundaneness of existence. 🥹
He then explains that the whole purpose of a story is for the flawed protagonist to undergo a series of plots in order to emerge on the other side either changed (heroic) or stays the same (tragedy). The question to be answered by the protagonist is:
Who am I?
When reading this book, I couldn’t help but draw parallels with one of my all time favourites: A Million Miles in a Thousand Years.
After Donald wrote his best-selling memoir, he kinda go into a funk and spent months just laying in bed and avoiding his publisher. One day, he was contacted by two movie producers that wanted to make a movie based on his memoir. While fictionalizing his life for film, he came to the realization that life itself, is but a story, and
what makes a good story is what makes a good life.
Maybe the question to be answered by the protagonist (you) is also “Who am I?” What kind of person are you? Will you craft a beautiful life full of meaning? Is your story a heroic one or a tragedy?
I hope mine is not a tragedy, but I think even worse would be one where nothing happened at all because I was too scared to do anything. That’s my personal greatest fear. 🙈🙈
👨💻 What I’m Working On
NOTHING. I’m spending 10 days in Munich and surrounding cities. I’m so happy to be here and feel so inspired by the city’s castles, parks, and people. I’ll be going to Salzburg, Austria tomorrow. 😊
P.S. All constructive feedback is greatly appreciated :)

hey there!! wow there was always a stigma around german people being a bit rude and angry lol but i trust your judgement and im glad you are having a good time, enjoy your vacation girl!, also, you often mention in your newsletters the book you read and it caught my attention how you read so many books in a short amount of time, perhaps you mean 'inspecting' books rather than doing an analytical reading? (i'm assuming you follow the manual of How to read a book by Mortimer J. Adler 1940), and if not i would like to ask you about your strategy for picking books relevant and your strategy to read them, again have a good time girl!
If you are in Munich, and you like cars and motorcycles, the BMW museum is a nice place to visit.
