hey there!! wow there was always a stigma around german people being a bit rude and angry lol but i trust your judgement and im glad you are having a good time, enjoy your vacation girl!, also, you often mention in your newsletters the book you read and it caught my attention how you read so many books in a short amount of time, perhaps you mean 'inspecting' books rather than doing an analytical reading? (i'm assuming you follow the manual of How to read a book by Mortimer J. Adler 1940), and if not i would like to ask you about your strategy for picking books relevant and your strategy to read them, again have a good time girl!

Is there that stereotype?? Everyone was so nice from my experience!

Ooo no I haven’t actually read that book but maybe now I should 😅

My usual system is if I think a book is interesting I’d get the audiobook version and I listen to it around 2 -3x speed when I’m just doing things like walking, gym, cleaning. If I think it’s actually very good or it’s hard to digest just through audio I’d then buy a physical copy. I usually have 3 books on rotation. Audiobook, physical, and a kindle book I read before I sleep.

To choose books, I watch a lot of YouTube videos and IG book people so I read books other people suggest and sometimes books also suggest other books etc. and kinda just follow down the path of whatever sounds interesting. Especially since I start with audio it’s lower commitment and if I don’t like it I’ll just not buy an actual copy. Hope that makes sense!

If you are in Munich, and you like cars and motorcycles, the BMW museum is a nice place to visit.

I am so happy you are in Germany! And yes! Not only Munich, it is part of the German culture to enjoy your free time, and specially, find what makes you happy as an individual and be happy with yourself! That is what I learned after moving here 4 years ago from LatinAmerica. Enjoy and keep the nice work!

That’s amazing - it’s such a contrast to Asian and North American culture haha. How would you say it’s different from Latin America?

Munich is a beautiful and very safe city with great parks and a lot of green. However, the longer you stay, the more you'll become aware of the underlying racism present in this city.

Oh no im sorry to hear that :( at least on the surface it seems really wonderful! I wonder how it compares to the US. When I first moved to the US I was so shocked and confused by how much racial tension there was 🙈

Strange. Not me or my friends have experience racism ever in all the time we have been here. Although, I do know that there is tension because of religious factions being out of the line. But nothing related to race. Germany values are actually very into accepting other races, supporting females and protecting the environment.

I'm not religious but black (born and raised in Germany) and also have many Asian friends who told me about similar bad experiences, but I'm glad you didn't experience any racism. :)

Oh, your German must be so good! I am sorry for those kind of situations :( I guess everywhere in the world happens. I did experience discrimination but in Japan. Let's hope for things get getter everywhere 🙏
