I am so excited for you and how lonely octopus is taking up shape! I’m a strong believer in diversifying income and creative communities so I can see how this project can satisfy multiple needs. I’ve been reading a lot on FIRE and the types of freedoms you describe here and I want to reach similar goals. I also need that dopamine hit! I don’t think I could ever convince myself to take a cold shower but I’ll try the sunshine trick as soon as the sun decides to start shining over New England haha :)
So glad to hear you’re exploring FIRE and what that could mean - it really changed the way I viewed my career and life overall 🤗 I’m literally sitting here trying to convince myself to go take a cold shower right now 😅
You can join the waitlist at lonelyoctopus.com (it’s currently still the old website but the new website will be up in couple days! I’ll also make an announcement on the newsletter before sharing on any other socials 💜
I would recommend looking into the different ways ADHD can impact people - there may be some surprising ways you see yourself.
Not to use it as a crutch but IF it appears you do have ADHD, it can help to explain things you’ve struggled with and maybe even wondered why the heck you can’t do something or not do it as easily as others or as easily as you have at certain times.
But I bet there are things that would surprise you.
Not as a crutch but as if you were trying to figure out why some code isn’t working, and found out you were being given the incorrect error message- it would make it hard to have things work properly if you’re not actually working on the actual issue.
(Doing that often enough and it can impact confidence, etc)
I’m more than happy to point you to resources or answer any questions.
This was so beautifully written. I sense the difference in the writing. The tone sounds calmer and relaxed. That baseline dopamine must be rising after trying out those skills learned regarding sleep and showers. I used to like room temp showers, but then I got used to super hot showers. Upon reading this, I'll try switching back to cooler showers. I've also been trying to sneak in the morning sunlight since Matt Walker really recommends it in his book, "Why we Sleep"
I'm glad that you are trying to establish habits. I recently heard the book, "Hello, habits" and the author writes that they aspire to become their habits. I thought that was powerful and scary, but now I see the wisdom in that phrasing. I understand now that we all have habits, but they may not be the ones we actually want or enjoy.
The AI art really looks beautiful especially that last one since it is very happy and positive looking.
I would like to hear more about the AI projects that you have lined up.
Andrew Huberman is a legend

Love the octopi art you made! Been playing around with Midjourney for a few months with mixed results, but I’m learning.
Nice! Me too - there’s a lot of little tricks you can do to get it to do what you’d like which that I’m slowly learning now 😊
