Renting a car has the benefit that if it breaks down they just bring you another car and you continue on your journey. No trying to find a repair shop in an unfamiliar town and waiting for the repair.

I understand that Banff, Alberta is arguably the most beautiful place in the Rocky Mountains.

True! I was just a bit worried that it'll be super expensive and if something happens the insurance would be crazy expensive too. Need to do more research!

no I don't think I would keep it I don't have a place to keep it! hmm if I rent it seems like it would be so expensive for a month huh and the insurance tho

But if you buy it you need to waste a bunch of time dealing with it. Looking for something that isn't terrible. The paperwork. Not getting a bad deal. Etc.

Then you need to waste more time figuring out how to sell it.

It wouldn't surprise me if it ended up costing more money doing it this way. It will certainly cost a lot more in time and energy.
