Hi friends! How’s it going??
So the other day I was talking to an unknown number that seemed to know me quite well. Like well enough that I felt too awkward to ask who dis? Based on the area code and context, I continued the conversation kinda just assuming it’s my friend Seattle Data Guy on YT.
UNTIL the person said something that definitely told me that he wasn’t SDG. So I went to go ask SDG if it’s him and he said it wasn’t….
I’m back in SF for a bit btw! I went to Open Sauce and was in the same conversation as 3Blue1Brown, Tier Zoo, and a bunch of other YouTubers in the maker and STEM space. 😱 Veritasium was also there but I was too awkward to say hi 😅

Claude 3.5 Sonnet and it’s actually very impressive. Anthropic is definitely giving OpenAI a run for its money!
On the other hand, there’s been more concerns about AI safety. Geoffrey Hinton gave an interview about why he thinks shit is about to hit the fan and Ilya Suskever also started a new company called Safe SuperIntelligence Inc.

Some of you that have known me for a while know that I don’t respond well to positive reinforcement ie. getting a reward if I do something good. Like I literally don’t care. Knowing it’s a reward makes me not want it anymore.
I can know that I like doing something and doing it will make me feel fulfilled, happy, achieve my goals etc. but I still just can’t get myself to do it. I even procrastinate phone calls so I will literally let it go to voicemail before calling them back. 😅 I honestly don’t know why I’m like this but it’s just the way I am so I roll with it.
For example, I scheduled my DMV driver’s test for July 18th (here is the video about my goals for rest of this year in case you haven’t seen it). So now what I’m going to do is panic learn (re-learn) how to drive in the next few days. Future Tina will be grateful. 🤷🏻♀️
