Hey Tina,

What do you think about audiobooks? Have you tried them before? I ask because I too would like to get into reading but my daily routine doesn’t allow it.

To answer your question about the daily routine, if there was something I could change it would be my work commute time or location. To make a long story short, my job location is about an hour and a half from my home, 2 and half if heavy traffic. This ties back with why I asked about the audiobooks. I’m trying them out, but I can’t help but feel that I’m missing out on training my brain by actually reading 😅

Hi! Most of the books I "read" are actually audiobooks. The only books I read are the ones that are way too complicated to listen to or have a lot of diagrams. If I think a book is amazing and I want to dive deeper it into it, I'll then buy a copy.

Hm ok, that’s probably the right way to do it. I guess that’s a better way of engaging a book if reading immediately doesn’t work. Thanks for the response Tina, I’m looking forward to your next newsletter!

I was hesitant to try audio books for FOREVER. Although I still prefer to read read a book, audio books are great for drive. They actually keep me more focused, engaged and awake sometimes on the road. I just don't force it on myself and get the most out of it that way. Have really enjoyed some stories while in the car by myself. Kind of weird listening to a book with others though. That is for sure haha. I feel judged.

T I N A,

My routine is somewhat similar to yours. I'm more active before lunch as well. I have loved anime based on a couple that I've watched before (Death Note, etc), but I feel more at ease when I watch KDramas! They have taught me some of the best life-lessons and being optimistic! KDramas also have the magical essence in them which makes you linger a little more and stretch your day to complete episodes/series Empress Ki, Crash Landing on you, Start Up, etc). I love Calisthenics (mostly variations in push-ups due to limited time.) over gym, but I try to do it atleast twice a day in two-30 to 40 min intervals. I gather productive thoughts at that time and also whenever I'm not really doing anything and talk to myself 😜.

Thank you for all that you do! I happened to quit my job as a maintenance project manager (Mechanical) at a food processing plant in Kansas during the pandemic. I had to show up to work everyday even during the peak pandemic and I had people right next to me either fall terribly sick/die. I quit my job and made up my mind that I need to transition to allow myself to be with family, stay healthy, and work-from-home when needed. I tried Supply Chain Management with key focus to learn SAP modules to become an IT consultant. In this process I met some of the worst people as my trainers. I also realised SAP is not for me as it has a very limited scope and I could not to live just inside that SAP bubble. The worst thing is it's hard to transition once you gain experience in something over a span of time (Example, it's hard to transition from a support consultant to other projects which expect you to have experience in implementation. So, you become a cog in a wheel)

I made up my mind to take things under my control and decided to self-learn no matter what I choose to do. I was dumbfounded by what Data Science/AI could do recently and I met you on YouTube in this process (Almost 3-4 months ago) and I'm one of your little subscribers since then 🥳 (I'm the one who always comments "TINA = ANIME ❤️" if I feel like leaving a comment. Sorry if that annoyed you!)

Thank you and your lovely friends who ignited a spark in me! I am in the process of attaining skills, slowly for the time being but steadily. I whole heartedly thank you once again for adding value to our lives.

- R O C K Y ❤️ 🇮🇳 👊🏻

HAHAH TINA = ANIME ❤️so that's you! TYTY!

You know I've never gotten into kdramas. I think I watched one called Iris before and got super confused.

I'm really happy to hear that you're taking these steps. It must feel a bit scary but now that you've made up your mind you will definitely get there as long as you keep going. I promise!

KDramas are fantastic and they will be worth the time watching. It will definitely be the best replacement to anime. As I mentioned earlier, every drama has its own essence of "Life Lessons". They are absolutely comforting!!

But yeah, there are also KDramas that are overly Hyped and ones that are really confusing/uninteresting! I also believe that most KDramas made after the year 2014 are more creative and to-the-point!!

You can try watching "Crash Landing on You", "The Legend of The Blue Sea", "Empress Ki", "Start-Up", they are lovely and very interesting!! (These are some of my recommendations to start with and later you can find ones with your favorite cast or genre.)

And yes a new learning adventure (especially when you are 30) can be really scary especially when we fall into incorrect content and learn from wrong resources/people. Also as a guy from a non-IT domain trying to get into Data Science, there is a tendency to unnecessarily linger on a few things and sometimes even get off the "Road-Map".

I will keep going and I hope to make it!

Thank you once again ❤️ 🥳

Tina!!!!!!!

You are my internet friend that does not know you are my internet friend, but I saw at the end of the email you were asking for feedback, and I am happy to provide. I really liked the newsletter. It was fun and authentic. Value packed too. You are one of the creators that I could watch nearly anything you put out. You and https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKvaSxHH11xccltyc8IFXjA.

This is some bland feedback but basically everything you did was appreciated and felt very personal. It reminds me of my own journal entries. Appreciate you having the courage to share it with the rest of us.

It had a very good vibe with it. Kind of reminds me of Morning Brew emails but..... better and less political / Stancy and just personal.

Ohhh I love Kotaro Lives Alone, too. The story is so sad. It totally left my hard broken too. I hope it will continue and we will see Kotaro-chan happy someday. 😢 Also I agree with you about dinner and working/studying hours. I am not able to get back to studying after dinner for a while know. I try to brake it but my body gets into this relaxed mode immediately and I find myself watching several episodes of anime. 😅

Hi Tina!

I'm someone who pretty much fears sharing his work and I tend to be over critical of myself and fearful of other's opinions. Seeing your newsletter for the first time today was great because of how not-so-polished it appears (sorry if that seems like a back handed compliment!). Honestly it kind-of blew my mind, because reading it was a thrill but more than that, I found that the open, spirited and seemingly unencumbered way your personal style manifests in the email (ascii emoji ahoy :) is actually quite uplifting.

While you continue building your platform, I hope you consider that strange effect a not-so-polished (but content rich) newsletter has. I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way but as someone who is used to the trappings of a more rigid political/economy based newsletter, this comes as much needed breath of fresh air.

PS - I'm definitely going to experiment with a more relaxed style of content after seeing this. Reducing the friction between start to post just makes sense for me.

Cheers, from LA!

Aww thank you so much!! I definitely feel you on that one haha but I guess at some point I was just like WELP as long as I do a newsletter once a week :P I'm really glad that you actually like this style!

I think this is a really good suggestion for lonely octopus. Instead of trying to be super polished just try to keep improving and be honest :) It'll definitely feel more natural to me too!

Hey Tina,

I'm relatively new to your content and channel, I have a ton of things to catch up on, but I wanted to ask you. At this point in your life, looking back, would you tell others that attending college is important, or no?

I realize of course, that depending on what you want to do, having a degree is basically a necessity.

What I want to know, more so, is do you feel that going to college prepared you in other ways for your life that are not as apparent? Or were there things you gained, that you may not have had access to otherwise? Etc.

If you're wondering why I'm asking, I've been considering attending college for the first time however a bit later in my life (33.) I know the decision is ultimately mine to make, but so far you seem to have very thoughtful ideas about everything you do and have done in the past. So, I would love to hear maybe a few things you feel are important about college, aside from the degree itself. Thank you!
