We finally found a ✨Mac Mini✨
Tis the open source renaissance
🐙 Hi friend, how’s it going?
I finally got my hands on a Mac Mini after hunting for a while. Yay! Now our local models have a more permanent home. More updates as we keep tinkering. 🖥️
🌻 Interesting Things (I think)
A range of things that I find interesting!
🖊️ Learning
🤖 AI
Parallel programming with agents 🧠
This one is amazing for those of us who have ADHD prone brains. 🫨 Instead of doing everything sequentially, you can spawn multiple AI agents working on different tasks at the same time. It maps really well to how a lot of us actually think: multiple threads running at once, just now the computer keeps up with you.
In practice this can look like: one agent doing documentation, another fixing errors in the backend, and another one building a new feature to the frontend, without waiting on each other. The productivity unlock is real. Highly recommend checking it out.
🛠️ New Claude Code Setups
You can now plug open-source models directly into Claude Code, which means you can start building a fully open-source tech stack without being locked into any one provider. The flexibility here is genuinely exciting and I've been nerding out about it all week. 🤯
What this actually means: you can swap in models like Qwen, Kimi or Llama depending on the task. Cost-effective, flexible and you’re not handing everything to one company.

This is the kind of setup that gets more powerful the more you understand what’s happening underneath. Which is exactly why learning the fundamentals still matters.
🐙 Not Sure Where to Start With AI?
This is genuinely one of the most common things I hear : I want to learn AI but I don’t know where to begin. I get it, the overwhelm is real. There’s so much out there.
So our team at Lonely Octopus put together a free 28-Day AI Sprint Roadmap - pick your goal (leveling up at work, building AI products, or offering AI as a service) and it gives you a clear, day-by-day path forward. No more staring at a list of 50 things wondering where to start.
If you’ve been putting it off, this is a low-commitment way to just begin. 👉 Get it here for free 💜
