Hi friends, how’s it going?
I’d love to host some in-person events like meetups and workshops in HK! If you’re interested wanna join this Whatsapp group? If there’s enough interest I’ll set a date. 💜
Last week I went on a short trip to Taiwan! The food 🤩 I had this fried hotpot (yes, fried and hotpot) that might’ve been the best hotpot I’ve ever had in my life. Still thinking about it.
🌻 Interesting Things (I think)
A range of things that I find interesting!
🖊️ Learning
Here are some of the things I’ve been learning lately.👇
🧠 Context Engineering – Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke & Andrej Karpathy made this a thing. It’s basically the next step beyond vibe coding—thinking deliberately about how to structure and layer prompts, memory, and context when building AI tools. I’ve been testing a bunch of new techniques and it’s been super fun.
📺 Careers in the Age of AI – I recently did a live session with IBM SkillsBuild on how to prepare for the future of work in the AI era. We talked about trends, practical skills, and how to stand out. The recording is up now if you want to check it out!
🤖 AI Agents – Every couple weeks I spend some time diving deeper into tools for building more robust agents. Currently spending more time with Retool and Warp. The prompt ↔️ evals loop is key for making AI agents trustworthy, and I’m glad to see more tools popping up to support that!
Btw if you're interested in building your own AI agents, we're opening pre-enrollment for the Lonely Octopus Agents Bootcamp in a few days! Last time, it sold out from the waitlist in under 48 hours so do sign up if you’re interested in more details. 💜

Vibe coding is fun. But sometimes, you need something stronger. 💪💪
If you’re working in a giant repo with millions of lines of code, vibe coded demos won’t cut it. That’s where Augment Code comes in.
It’s built for real engineering work, including debugging, writing tests, refactoring, and navigating complex systems.
Augment’s Context Engine feeds Claude Sonnet 4 exactly what it needs from your codebase. There’s no need for guessing, model picking, or forks. Just a deeply integrated assistant that actually helps you ship.
You can even launch cloud agents to refactor or fix tests while your laptop is closed. It runs in your IDE, including VS Code, JetBrains, Vim, and Cursor.
And it’s secure! 🔒 Augment is ISO/IEC 42001 and SOC 2 certified. No training on customer code. Ever.
